Releases & rollback

Every hypequery cloud deploy is an immutable release you can inspect, make live, roll back, and restore.

hypequery cloud is not live yet

You can't sign up for or deploy to cloud today. These pages describe the planned service, and details will change before launch. What runs today is the open-source TypeScript and Python SDKs, in your own backend.

Each deploy creates an immutable release for one environment. Releases are never edited in place, so what an environment serves is always a release you can point to.

The Deployments page

The Deployments page lists every release for the selected environment, with its label, when it started, the datasets it contains, and its status.

  • Make live serves a release in place of the current one.
  • Restore brings back a release that was live before, which is how you roll back.

Changing the live release takes effect without a redeploy, because the release already exists.

Deploying from the CLI

  • A newly accepted release goes live immediately.
  • Retrying an identical deploy has no side effects.
  • If you restored an older release, the next deploy will not silently replace it. Pass --replace-restored when you intend to.

Source snapshots

By default each release includes the source files used to build it, with the Git branch and commit when available. The Datasets page shows that snapshot in a read-only viewer, so you can see exactly what is live and switch between releases.

From your machine, compare or download the live source:

npx hypequery diff # compare local source with the live release
npx hypequery pull # download the live release's source snapshot

Pass --no-source when deploying to leave source files out of a release.
